Gwen Bily

Gwen specialized in painting a live subject in one sitting.

In February 2003, at the age of 29, she was diagnosed with late-stage breast cancer.  After educating herself about the side-effects and success rates of chemotherapy and radiation, she refused these treatments and began criticizing the medical establishment through her work.
In addition to this site, she worked with her sister on a website called Cancerarchy. It contains articles about conventional and alternative cancer treatments, artwork, and progressive viewpoints for people with cancer and their families.
Gwen lived with stage four, metastatic breast cancer for four years. She died on January 27th, 2007.
